by Laurie Anderson
One lone sheep graces the top of the bodice on this boy’s day gown. French knots traditionally are wrapped only one time, but to make this a dimensional lamb Laurie Anderson wrapped each French knot twice. The simple blue and white smocking pattern works handsomely on the cap and gown. Any little prince will be picture perfect in this smocked ensemble.
Garment Details: Laurie used Southern Stitches Smocked Bishop Dress as the pattern for the size 3 month bishop gown; the sweet cap was made using Southern Stitches “Boy’s Smocked Cap”. She chose a pretty shade of blue batiste for both garments, with white silk satin ribbon for the ties on the cap.
