fall issue preview

Our third issue of Classic Sewing hits newsstands now and you are going to love this fall issue!

On the cover is the “London Square Coat” designed by Laura Johnson of Ellie Inspired. The complete pattern is in the envelope that accompanies the magazine. The coat is reversible and offers many options of embellishing. Kathy and I used Riley Blake fabric from the Bittersweet Collection. You will have fun with this one!

Smocking galore is the order of the day! Kathy Dykstra has designed fabulous back to school smocking plates for the youngsters in your life. A bright apple and a darling fox are smocking plates made to fit the Jane Pattern, also included in the envelope. The cute top with smocking on the front pairs perfectly with “Classic Pants,” also included in the pattern envelope.

Gail Doane has created a fabulous little vest embroidery design to be used on a commercial pattern. Tiny buttons in bright colors match the “Liberty of London” fabric of the dress.

Sue Stewart designed “Shark’s Teeth Templates” for linen blouses, sure to delight women who want to make something beautiful for themselves. You will love her easy to follow instructions.

Twenty two projects are offered in this issue along with the regular features you love.

  1. Can you please tell me where to find the template for the embroidery for that goes on the yoke of the dress?? I have downloaded the template for the skirt and I found the smocking plate in the magazine, but cannot locate the roses and swirls for the bodice.
