Pattern By Laura Johnson | Designs By Riley BlakeFarmhouse Fabrics and Anna Griffin

When the cold days of winter are passing and heavier garments are safely stored away, our thoughts turn to the delicate and colorful fabrics of the spring sewing season. Spring can be a season of pale, delicate colors or a burst of bright colors inspired by our gardens.

One great dress pattern provides the perfect opportunity to create beautiful spring garments. By the selection of fabric combinations, creative cutting, and traditional piecing, the possibilities are endless. The dress bodice can sometimes be the showcase of an outfit. It is the traditional place where monograms reside, but it is also the place where fabrics combine to create marvelous dresses.

In this issue, the pattern that was selected is “Miss Merry” by Laura Johnson, proprietor of Ellie Inspired patterns. Three different bodices and fabric choices inspire us to be creative.
