A Note from the Editor: Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Latest Happenings

Kathy McMakin, Editor of Classic Sewing magazine

Dear Sewing Friends,

Classic—a part of the magazine name chosen to represent timeless projects that will be cherished for years. Classic—When you hear that word, what does it remind you of regarding your sewing?

I think of styles that never go out of style or become stale. They stand the test of time. Such is the fabulous dress in the Spring Issue by Kathy Drew. It’s a style cherished by mothers and grandmothers for generations. Kathy is known for phenomenal creations, and this one is a “classic.” The delicate embroidery on the portrait collar, the full skirt, and all the details are orchestrated into this dress.

Kathy also designed and digitized the beautiful Kathy Drew Heirloom Collection 1 from our 2020 Embroidery Club. Part two of that collection will be featured in the first installment for our 2021 Embroidery Club, which will release very soon!

Spring and summer sewing season is now in full swing, and we have so much “new” in store for you to inspire your creations, including our hot-off-the-press Summer 2021 issue. This issue includes sundresses, wedding outfits, and more.

Please stay safe and sew, sew, sew!
