A Note from the Editor: Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Latest Happenings

Kathy McMakin, Editor of Classic Sewing magazine

Dear Sewing Friends,

The sheer elegance of vintage Victorian fashion is rekindled with this drop-waist dress designed by Cheryl Clapp! The collar, which features an appliquéd and embroidered heart, is removable so that you can also embroider, monogram, or embellish other collars for a whole new look.

We have gathered up some of our favorite red and pink projects to get us in the Valentine’s Day spirit! This curated list includes sweet dresses to sew for your little Valentine. These projects are from the pages of Classic Sewing, along with a couple of old favorites from Sew Beautiful.

Have you ever used Janet Platt’s Quick Points rulers? I love using these tools to add quick and creative trims to all kinds of sewing projects. Watch this video tutorial by Connie Palmer to see how you can use the Prairie Point ruler to create trims three different ways.

Have a good week and sew, sew, sew!
