A Note from the Editor: Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Latest Happenings

Kathy McMakin, Editor of Classic Sewing magazine

Dear Sewing Friends,

Janet Gilbert’s smocked dress from our Spring issue makes me happy just looking at it! I love the delicate colors, and I know you will, too. Be creative! This is the best time to enjoy our sewing moments.

I was so excited when Phyllis brought in hand-drawn embroidery patterns that were her grandmother’s! We very carefully went page-by-page through the fragile papers and marveled at the designs. She said her grandmother and friends would draw from each other’s creations to share. Knowing these would be perfect for machine embroidery, we had them digitized for the 2020 Embroidery Club. The designs are so delicate and dainty. You will love them!

We’re happy to announce that one of our favorite Martha Pullen Teacher Licensing curriculums is now available online for the first time ever. Vintage, Classic, Contemporary includes 31 wonderful projects, plus all kinds of great techniques. The course includes so many video tutorials and downloadable instructions/patterns. Whether you want to teach the projects, make them to sell, or just sew them for fun, we’d love to have you join us for this fun course.

Please stay safe and sew, sew, sew!
