A Note from the Editor: Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Latest Happenings

Kathy McMakin, Editor of Classic Sewing magazine

Dear Sewing Friends,

No baby’s summer wardrobe is complete without a sweet little sunsuit! Kathy Blackmon’s vintage sunsuit pattern from our Summer 2019 issue is the perfect canvas for all types of decorative techniques. The original version is embellished with embroidered insertion and lots of lace ruffles. We also embellished a second version with shark’s teeth and tatting. I can’t decide which look is more adorable! What techniques will you showcase on your sunsuit? The possibilities are endless.

The new and improved Embroidery Club is almost here! If you love machine embroidery, you’re in for a real treat. You can subscribe to our 2019 collection to receive all the new 2019 designs; the designs will be released in installments between now and the end of the year. You can also shop previous years’ collections and individual designs. With a wonderful variety of vintage-inspired designs, whimsical motifs, alphabets, and practically any type of design you can think of, it’s our hope that the Embroidery Club becomes your go-to source for designs that stir your creativity.

In the featured project section of last week’s newsletter, we inadvertently misspelled a designer’s name: Nona Pontiff. We sincerely apologize for this honest mistake. We are so grateful for your understanding!

All the best,

Kathy McMakin
