Our new Autumn 2021 issue is filled with fall-inspired patterns, embroideries, techniques, and more! The pattern envelope contains beautiful dresses designed by Kathy Dykstra and Gail Doane, as well as an heirloom blouse designed by Nona Pontiff. Take a closer look:

Kathy Dykstra’s knack for texture and contrast is exemplified in the cover garment, the Smocked Ruffles Dress. The contrasting color of the fabric used for the buttons and piping is echoed in the smocked ruffles. The smocking pattern on the ruffles is a very basic wave design and gathers the fabric precisely. The pattern includes sizes 4-10.

Gail Doane is the master designer of classic garments. The Scallop Dress, complete with scalloped sleeves and hemline, features a scallop overlay at the bodice. The undulating design is repeated in the smocking pattern. Gail used the hot pink piping on the bright blue dress and lined the sleeves with the same fabric. The covered buttons and piping on the tab closure accent the back beautifully. The pattern includes sizes 4-10. Gail has also designed a beautiful matching quilted jacket, which is featured in this issue’s downloads.

There is nothing more luxurious than a crisp, white linen blouse. On the beautiful Anna blouse, designer Nona Pontiff has used linen as her palette upon which to create tone-on-tone texture with elegant pintucks. Down the sides of the front lapel and down the back, the placement is perfect. The delicate edging on the collar and sleeves, along with pearl buttons, complete this classic garment. The pattern includes sizes XS-XL.
In addition to these patterns, this issue includes many more fall sewing projects you will love. Explore the creativity of autumn sewing with this colorful and inspiring issue.
