The cover features the precious Colin’s Button-Back Shirt and Holiday Knickers outfit designed by Charlotte Potter. Inside the pattern envelope that comes with the issue, you will find the Colin pattern, as well as a pattern for a classic Holiday Party Dress designed by Susie Gay. Let’s take a closer look:
Charlotte Potter put a modern twist on a generations-old look! The undulating tucked shirt, lined cap with a contrasting button, and the knickers piped in a microcheck gingham are orchestrated to perfection for this holiday season. This dapper ensemble is not only handsome, but extremely comfortable. The patterns for the shirt and knickers are included in the issue’s pattern envelope in sizes 1–4, while the the pattern and instructions for the cap are included as download for this issue.
Susie Gay has designed a masterpiece dress for the season! The dramatic pointed collar drops to the waist in the back, while the front is squared. The rows of lace and Swiss embroidery are joined with entredeux. The back of the dress closes with pearl buttons that peek out from under the collar and close the lap belt in the back—the finishing touch. The pattern is included in the issue’s pattern envelope in sizes 4–10. Kits are also available for this dress in five beautiful colors of velveteen fabric!
