Take a closer look at each garment below:

Madeira for the Modern Miss Dress

Featured on the cover of our Summer 2021 issue, the first garment in the trio is this girl’s dress (sizes 3T–4T). Details abound on this sweet design! The orange scalloped yoke is embellished with spaghetti bias rouleau and a tiny bow, while the turned motif boat with corded pinstitched sails floats on a turquoise gingham scalloped sea. The pattern is included in this issue’s pattern envelope.

Madeira for the Modern Miss Top & Bloomers

For little sister, stitch up the precious top and bloomers (size 12M–2). This outfit is just as cute as can be! The pattern is also included in this issue’s pattern envelope.

Madeira for the Modern Mister Sunsuit

This cute sunsuit completes Debbie’s trifecta of sailboat garments. She adapted her Love and Stitches #52 “Baby Basics” pattern to create this matching sunsuit for your favorite little sailor. This modern heirloom features an orange blanket stitched turned motif hull with bright turquoise corded pinstitched sails floating on a gingham Madeira scalloped sea. The front neckline of the original pattern was raised ⅜” and lower edge of bib attached on top, instead of behind the waistband, to provide a larger area for embellishment. The sunsuit bib (sizes 6M–24M) with the Madeira sailboat template and directions for creating the sunsuit bib and attaching it to the pants bubble are included in this issue’s downloads. Purchase the “Baby Basics” bubble pattern from loveandstitches.com.
