Little embroidered and appliquéd poodles prance around the hemline of this high-waist dress. The poodle bodies are shadow stitched and embroidered with floche embroidery cotton. Shadow work flowers adorn the yoke of the dress too. The pup’s puffs are embellished with sprinkles of French knots, and little swirls of running stitches act as spacers between the shapes.

Shadow work also adorns the bodice just above the skirt. The hem and armbands feature Madeira appliqué and point de Paris stitch by machine. You will learn the ins and outs of Madeira appliqué while making this charming shaped hemline.

The armholes are uniquely treated with contrasting fabric cut from the same black polka dot fabric as the hem and appliquéd in place. Bow ties at the shoulders complete the look. The supplied pattern is included in sizes 2–8.
